Rantphilosophical journalUgh, I feel like crap recently.
Have you ever felt like certain people you think you can trust completely LIKE watching you fall? They let you stand up and voice what you think, but then just kick you back down and seem to love watching it happen.
And all the while, while you're getting rejected and hurt so badly, there's always that small, strong impulse to keep fighting back, despite what pain you'll cause yourself. It's like an instinct; every man (in my case woman) for themselves, damn the cost. The point of the debate seems so vague and lost in it all, but you have to keep pushing on just for your own sake, although 99% of the time it'll get you nowhere.
Basically, I've had that a lot recently and I've been arguing a lot with certain people who just seem to adore it when I end up in tears, or when I feel completely beaten and think they know it all. Some of these people are very important to me, and I hate arguing with them so badly but I can't seem to stop sticking to my guns and pressing the matter rather than saying "I don't want to discuss this, let's talk again later" or something. It's silly that I can't do something as simple as that, and these people are never happy, despite how much they mean to me, until they have me "put in my place".
And thinking of it that way makes me want to rebel against them even more because who the hell are they to say what's right and what's wrong?
I know that I am not always right, and that I'm a handful a lot of the time, but these people don't seem to understand that we all have our own personal problems to deal with, and if they keep pestering me for more answers about these problems they are going to end up with a moody female on their hands.
